mathguru is built by some parents from India, for children to use with a parent or guardian — so privacy is kept simple and minimal. No personal details are needed to play or practise.
What we keep.
- Accounts — a username and a password. No phone number and no real name.
- Every problem your child answers — the sum, the answer your child gave, whether it was right, the time taken, the steps of working, and whether a hint was needed — with the levels and scores earned and the worksheets downloaded. It is kept for every child who practises, under the guest name or the user id you created, and it is how your child's progress is kept and shown back to you.
- Feedback messages — what you write, with a name and an email only if you choose to give them, and the page you sent it from. An email is used only to reply to you.
- Settings in your browser — small settings, such as sound and theme, are kept in the browser itself. Clearing the browser's site data removes them.
- Essential cookies only — to keep you signed in, remember a guest's progress and protect forms. No advertising cookies.
A guest name on the device. When your child plays or downloads a worksheet without an account, the site gives the device a simple guest name, so a returning visitor is recognised and their progress can be kept. It is our own cookie — no ads, no personal details — and clearing the browser's cookies removes it.
What we use it for. Only to run your child's practice: to save levels and scores and show them back to you, to open the next level, to answer your messages, and to understand how the site is used, so we can make it better.
Who can see it. Only the people who run mathguru. We do not sell or rent your child's records. We share them only with the service providers who help us run the site, such as the company that hosts it, or if the law requires it.
No ads. The site shows no advertisements anywhere — just maths, your child, and you.
How it is protected. We protect the records with reasonable security safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your child's information safe.
How long we keep it. For as long as the account is open, so your child's progress is never lost. When an account is deleted, its records are deleted too.
Children and parents. An account should be made by a parent or guardian, on the child's behalf.
Your choices. Your child can play as a guest, without any account — but a guest's scores may not stay for long. To keep their progress safely, create a free account — and note down the user id and password, because a forgotten password cannot be recovered at present. You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from the Account page — it permanently removes the account and every record connected to it.
Your rights. You can ask us to show you what we keep about your child, to correct it, or to delete it.
Feedback. For any issue or suggestion — including anything about privacy — send us a message through the private feedback form. If you are signed in, we reply here on the site, as a notification; if you leave an email, we reply to it.
When this page changes, the date below changes with it.
